About Brent Cochran
Brent currently serves as Pianist and Music Associate at Blackshear Place Baptist Church, Flowery Branch, GA. Blackshear Place is a large regional church with over 6,500 members with over 3,000 in attendance each Sunday. In addition to playing the piano, Brent sings and is regularly featured with the BPBC Celebration Choir and Orchestra. Brent also sings and performs regionally as time allows at other churches and events.
Brent began playing piano by ear at the age of 4 years old. Brent studied piano and music privately until he finished high school, but pursued a different path in college. Brent is also a writer and composer. Some of his work has been recorded by well known Southern Gospel artists such as the Grammy Award Nominated group Karen Peck and New River. Additionally, his work has been featured on Paul Heil’s Nationally Syndicated Radio program “Gospel Greats”.
Brent also has had the privilege of accompanying and performing with other well-known artists such as Country Music Artist Mark Wills, Mike LeFevre, Starla Harbin, and Mike Speck, to name a few.
Brent and his wife Christy have been married 17 years, and they have two sons, Chandler and Charlie.
Brent’s music ministry work is currently a part-time endeavor, as he has a full-time career outside of the music industry. Brent says, “this most recent recording was a blessing that God provided through a special friend who enjoys my music, and provided the means for me to be able to make this album. Making a recording is not an “inexpensive” undertaking, and all the responsibilities of raising a family come before any of this. Professional musicians who record for a record label don’t have to come up with the capital to fund a recording project, so for me to have this kind of opportunity is truly a gift from God. I am incredibly thankful to have the support of those who felt led to underwrite this most recent project and make it a reality. To God be the Glory….”
